Five Dead in Bangkok Market Shooting as Gunman Opens Fire in Busy Thai Marketplace.

Five people were killed and one injured in a shooting incident in Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, according to police reports.
The shooting took place at 12:31pm local time (05:31 GMT) on Monday at Or Tor Kor Market, located in the Bang Sue district of northern Bangkok, the Royal Thai Police confirmed.
All five victims were security guards working at the market. The suspected shooter reportedly died by suicide after the attack.
Deputy police chief of the Bang Sue district, Worapat Sukthai, told AFP that the motive remains unclear but confirmed the incident was being treated as a mass shooting.
Authorities are currently identifying the suspect and examining any potential connection to ongoing border tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.
Surveillance footage showed the shooter wearing a black T-shirt, camouflage shorts, a cap, and a backpack worn across his chest, according to the Thai Public Broadcasting Service.
Gun-related violence is relatively frequent in Thailand compared to other Southeast Asian nations. In a previous major incident in 2020, a junior army officer killed 29 people and injured 58 in a mass shooting in Nakhon Ratchasima, a city in the northeast of the country.
