Event Overview
The Ministry of Education and Research of Romania, in collaboration with UNICEF Romania and the European Commission, is set to host the international TAIEX Workshop on 16 September 2025. The event will take place at the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, in the Amphitheatre “Radu Voinea.”
The workshop aims to showcase education reforms supported by the European Commission’s Technical Support Instrument (TSI), with a strong focus on equity, inclusion, and student well-being.

Key Themes of the Workshop
The workshop will highlight two major themes:
Combating School Segregation
Romania will present its new legislative and methodological framework.
Experiences and reforms will also be shared from Bulgaria, Czechia, Portugal, and Slovakia.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Student Well-Being
Good practices will be shared by Finland, France, Spain, and Malta.
Romania will highlight its ongoing initiatives to strengthen SEL and student support systems.
Launch of National Reports
The workshop will also mark the release of two significant national-level reports:
The first analysis of school segregation risks in Romania, based on data from the 2024–2025 school year.
The first report on student well-being and mental health at lower-secondary level, produced under the EU-funded TSI project.
These reports will provide evidence-based insights to guide future reforms and policy decisions.
