Netflix Confirms Raising Voices Will Remain a Limited Series

From Speculation to Final Decision

Netflix has officially confirmed that Raising Voices (Ni una más), the Spanish teen drama adapted from Miguel Sáez Carral’s novel, will not return for a second season. While the streamer initially listed the show as “Season 1” when it premiered on May 31, 2024, it has now been reclassified as a “Limited Series” in its latest Netflix Engagement Report.

The Story of Raising Voices

Created by Miguel Sáez Carral and Isa Sánchez, the eight-episode series follows 17-year-old Alma (played by Nicole Wallace) and her friends Greta (Clara Galle) and Nata (Aïcha Villaverde), whose lives are upended when a sign appears outside their school warning that a rapist is among them. Teresa de Mera also starred in the show, which blends mystery, social drama, and coming-of-age themes.

Why the Ending Made Season 2 Unlikely

The series adapted Carral’s novel from start to finish, leaving little narrative room for continuation. While Netflix did not label it as a limited series in its pre-release marketing, the fact that the book’s plot was fully covered suggested the show was always intended as a one-off.

Viewer Numbers and Impact

In the first half of 2024, Raising Voices logged 25.4 million views, with an additional 9.1 million in the second half of the year. The reclassification to “Limited Series” was reflected in the streamer’s July–December 2024 engagement report, confirming no future seasons are planned.
